The polychromy and incarnate are for the most part original. This sculpture, with clothes on, used to stand on a base above the exit of the refectory. Literally and figuratively it was held in high esteem in the bridgettine tradition. This type of sculpture not only evokes the suffering of Christ, that already started at a young age, but also symbolises the incarnation of Christ.
