Not only the Portuguese, but also the Dutch set sail to India and influenced the local production of works of art. Intended for the export, this small set of drawers is reminiscent of a European shape, whilst the local crafstsmen executed the piece of furniture in the exotic coromandel wood and applied Indian silver escutcheons and handles to the drawers.
