Description
This white glazed ewer has a baluster body with a short trumpet neck with an everted rim. The ewer is glazed with a creamy-white glaze, typical for the wares made in Northern China. The kilns in this area had an oxygen-rich atmosphere, resulting in a white with warm tones. The ewer is set on a short, flat foot. On one side of the ewer is a short conical spout, on the other side is a strap handle, which joins the shoulder and the rim. On the shoulder of the ewer are two loop rings. The unglazed base shows a pale, pinkish-buff body.
