Description
This exquisite and richly carved frame was originally made for a portrait. The upper coat-of-arms were once propably painted with the coat-of-arms of the portrayed.
The carvings are sculptural, some of it entirely freestanding. The most prominent features are the putti and the sunflowers on the sides and lower part. The coat-of-arms to the upper part of the frame are surmounted by a helmet. The other decorations are floral garlands, flowers and fruit.
